Belle PCLX
The Belle PCLX is a petrol-powered forward plate compactor for compacting sub-bases, backfill, and granular material on construction and landscaping sites. Powered by a Honda GX120 engine with a 13kN oil-filled vibrator, it delivers consistent compaction across patios, driveways, paths, and trench reinstatement work. Available in 13" (PCLX 32) and 16" (PCLX 40) — both share the same engine and force; the difference is plate width and contact pressure.

Belle PCLX 32
The Belle PCLX 32 is a 13" petrol plate compactor for compacting sub-bases, granular backfill, and trench reinstatement on residential and light commercial sites. At 64 kg with a 13kN oil-filled vibrator and a genuine Honda GX120 engine, it delivers more compaction per square metre than the wider PCLX 40 — making it the right choice where ground conditions are harder or material layers are deeper. Compact enough to fit in a standard car boot with the handle folded.

Belle PCLX 40
The Belle PCLX 40 is a 16" petrol plate compactor suited to larger sub-base areas, block paving, and surface compaction work where coverage matters as much as force. The same Honda GX120 engine and 13kN vibrator as the PCLX 32 — with an 80mm wider plate that covers more ground per pass and suits flatter, more uniform compaction work. At 68.5 kg with a detachable handle and central lift point, it handles easily on site and transports in a van without issue.

Belle PCX 16/50
The Belle PCX 16/50 is a 20" heavyweight forward plate compactor delivering 16kN of compaction force from a 4.0kW Honda engine — the largest and most powerful plate in the Manchester Diggers fleet. It is built for commercial sub-base preparation, deep granular fill, and high-volume compaction work where the smaller PCLX plates would be working under their capacity. Designed specifically with operator safety in mind, the PCX 16/50 features a low Hand Arm Vibration (HAV) handle that permits longer periods of safe continuous use within legal vibration exposure limits.

Common Questions About Compaction Hire
- A wacker plate typically compacts in layers up to around 150mm (6 inches) for granular material like hardcore or Type 1 sub-base. For deeper fill, you need to compact in multiple passes at shallower depths. Trying to compact too deep in a single pass means the lower material stays loose and the surface will fail over time.
